The Whiplash Movie Title Sequence Video

Going into this project I was looking to capture the essence of the mature tone, while simultaneously representing the exciting and thrilling quality of the many performances. Having a score that was primarily percussion based, I was able to capitalize on the idea of rhythmic movement. Furthermore, the whole composition was structured around the rhythm of the percussion. With every beat came a type change. Pairing the identity of the type with the intense and thrilling percussion automatically raised the narratives intrigue. Having the piano loop in the back to increase the tempo of the composition also helped with the overall aesthetic.
